5/13/2019 7 Healthy Tips for Fast Weight LossIn this article I'm going to give you quite a few tips to help you lose weight and help you get healthy. The first healthy tip is to enjoy the food you are eating. Sit down at a table at home or at your favorite restaurant or Diner and enjoy a delicious meal. Don't order something at a fast food restaurant and then eat it while you are driving to work or to some type of social or sporting event. Spend time enjoying the food, enjoying the nourishment and nutrition that you are putting into your body. Believe it or not when you do this you will enjoy yourself much more and you will probably eat less than if you were just eating while you were driving in your car and just shoveling food into your mouth. This brings us into tip number to and this simple and easy tip is just to eat more slowly. Chew your food! Thoroughly chew your food so that it is broken down so that when it enters your stomach and your colon all of the nutrients can be absorbed and utilized by your body. Eating more slowly will also give your body more time to realize that your hunger has been satisfied and that your stomach is full. It takes at least a good 25 minutes for your body to realize that you are full. Several studies actually showed that people who eat slowly are more likely to be the proper BMI for their height as opposed to people who eat very quickly and usually are overweight and/or obese. Tip number three, portion size matters. An easy way to control this is just to use smaller plates. I like to use small plates and I make sure that at least half of the plate is covered by vegetables, a quarter of the plate should be covered by good healthy protein and a small portion of a healthy starchy carbohydrate. If you are weight loss resistant or insulin resistant I would suggest that you make your starchy carbohydrate portion even smaller. The next tip was totally surprise you and it’s about the color of your food and the color of your plate. Yes you read that correctly. You want to make sure that the color of your food is different from the color of your plate. People usually eat quite a bit more of the food when it's the same color as their plate. Next you want to make sure that you eat with large utensils. Make sure that your spoon or fork are large. You don't want to be eating with small utensils. A study showed that people who ate with large utensils left about 7 ounces of the meal they were eating on the plate when people who ate with small utensils left about 4 ounces on their plate. This did surprise me but when I started eating with larger utensils I seemed to get full faster. I don’t know the reason this worked for me but I do know that I will continue to eat with larger utensils. For your free weight loss consultation call 215-821-7336 |
